Immigration and Emigration Unit (I & E Unit)

The Immigration and Emigration Unit specializes in cases dealing with human smuggling and trafficking via sea and air. Accordingly its mandate involves prosecution of offenses committed under the Immigrants and Emigrants Act No. 20 of 1948 (as amended) and the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act No. 2 of 1996 (as amended). At present the Unit comprises of two Assistant State Counsel and six Attorneys-at-Law under the direct supervision of a Senior Deputy Solicitor General and a Deputy Solicitor General.
